The main functions of a compliance system are examined. The theoretical and legal aspects of compliance are explored, and the possibility of replacing the term “compliance” with another commonly used concept is analyzed. The specifics of implementing compliance systems in organizations are identified. The relationship between compliance and internal control and internal audit systems is demonstrated. It is emphasized that, in addition to control and preventive functions, compliance also serves a reputational function, which ensures a culture of good faith within an organization. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the prospects for the development of the compliance institution in the Russian legal framework. Based on the conducted research, it is concluded that the compliance system is becoming an integral part of corporate governance in modern organizations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating the risks of legal violations.
