Glossophobia as a Psychological Barrier in Professional Activity: Strategies for Diagnosis and Correction

Annotation

The article examines the phenomenon of glossophobia (fear of public speaking) as a significant psychological barrier that negatively affects professional self-realization and career growth. The cognitive, behavioral, and physiological components of this type of anxiety disorder are analyzed. The article provides an overview of key theoretical approaches to the etiology of glossophobia, including behavioral, cognitive-behavioral, and psychoanalytic concepts. Special attention is given to modern methods of diagnosing and psychocorrection of fear of public speaking. The article proposes a comprehensive model for overcoming glossophobia, which integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), relaxation techniques, and methods for developing communication skills. The article substantiates the need for a systematic approach to solving this problem within the framework of professional training and corporate education.
