The Call-Out Culture as a Legal Instrument of the 21st Century

Annotation

This article explores Cancel Culture as a virtual institution for interpreting reality and a form of public censorship. The author notes that Cancel Culture is increasingly being applied in the legal sphere today, serving as a powerful tool for implementing legal ideology, principles, and norms. The reasons for the relevance of Cancel Culture as a legal tool are explored, and the characteristics of pseudo-Cancel Culture are highlighted. The following methods were used in preparing this article: comparative legal, sociological, formal legal, and historical. The scholarly works of M.N. Marchenko, V.S. Nersesyants, A. Daub, A. Dershovich, and others were reviewed. The conclusion notes a trend toward increasing use of Cancel Culture as a legal tool.
