Energy Companies as a Special Category of Entities in the Field of Insolvency (Bankruptcy)
Annotation
This paper develops Petr Gordeevich Lakhno's ideas on the role, place, significance, and characteristics of energy companies in Russian jurisdiction. It analyzes approaches to the criteria for classifying organizations as energy companies. The author examines various points of view on the place of energy companies in economic activity and the allocation of their public economic functions. A description of the place and role of energy companies in the field of insolvency (bankruptcy) is provided. Approaches to classifying energy companies as a special category of creditors, which it is proposed to call "energy resource bodies," are considered. A position on classifying energy companies as a special category of debtors is also presented. In this regard, it is proposed to supplement the Bankruptcy Law with paragraph 7-1. "Bankruptcy of an Energy Market Company" with the significant specifics of bankruptcy for this category of debtors
