The article analyzes the use of provisions of applicable criminal and criminal procedure law that govern release from criminal liability due to reconciliation with the victim during judicial review of criminal cases. The author raises challenging issues related to the termination of criminal cases on this non-rehabilitating ground at the pre-trial stage and after trial, which courts encounter when determining whether the measures taken are sufficient to recognize reconciliation as successful, thereby resulting in the release of the offender from criminal liability
