The Responsibility of a Judge for Making Unjust Decisions, or the Correctness of the Wording of Paragraph 2 of Article 16 of the Law on the Status of Judges in the Russian Federation
Annotation
This article examines current issues of holding judges accountable for their official duties. The author analyzes legislative provisions governing criminal and disciplinary liability of judges for their decisions, distinguishing it from non-liability for their position in the administration of justice. The article examines practical examples of holding judges accountable for unjust decisions, as well as the application of organizational and legal measures against them for poor justice. Based on the results of the study, proposals have been formulated to improve the provisions of paragraph 2 of Article 16 of the Law on the Status of Judges, aimed at streamlining the understanding of the limits of judicial independence and accountability, the practical application of these norms, and strengthening the authority of the judiciary
