In today's world, ensuring national security and defense capabilities is a top priority. In this context, the issue of defense-related embezzlement and corruption becomes particularly relevant, as such crimes undermine public trust, weaken defense capabilities, and jeopardize a country's sovereignty. In Brazil, as one of the largest countries in Latin America with a well-developed defense system, combating defense-related embezzlement takes on significant importance. Criminal law measures serve as crucial tools for preventing and suppressing such crimes, contributing to the strengthening of law enforcement and national security. Unlike most Latin American countries, the Brazilian Criminal Code contains special provisions for crimes in the field of public procurement. The author aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the criminal law measures used in Brazil to combat defense-related torts, assess their effectiveness, identify existing problems, and evaluate the potential for applying Brazilian experience to Russian criminal legislation.
