Migration and Its Influence on Criminal Behavior
Annotation
In the last decade, international media outlets have often argued that fear of migration is the central theme surrounding the migration issue. It should be emphasized that this fear stems not so much from fear of uncontrolled migration as from fear of the migrants themselves, strangers, and aliens. Clearly, the media not only convey citizens' perceptions of migration but also play a role in shaping these perceptions, indicating either an increase in fear or its neutralization. This issue requires research in the context of Russian reality, as the coming years in Russia are expected to see a confluence of factors such as terrorism, illegal migration, illegal arms and ammunition trafficking, drug smuggling, and increased cybercriminal activity.
