Language Accessibility of Legal Text as a Smart Regulation Tool

Annotation

The problem of excessive complexity of the law is often considered in the context of the requirement that the law be accessible to ordinary citizens. The article proves that unclearly written legal texts have a much greater negative effect on the professional sphere, reducing the efficiency of lawyers, leading to errors in the interpretation and application of legal norms, influencing the style of court decisions, contracts and other legal documents. We are not talking about obvious defects in the text. Technically,, the document can be written correctly, but be extremely confusing, verbose, and difficult to understand. The article shows that compliance with even simple rules of legal technique when drafting a bill can increase the accessibility of its meaning, however, a systematic solution to the problem is currently impossible without a targeted state policy.
