Civil Liability for Aircraft Noise: Experience of Japan
Annotation
The article reviews the issue of aircraft noise which emerged in the middle of the 20th century due to civil aviation development. The paper highlights legal measures to address this issue in Japan (including laws and compensation mechanisms for residents), as well as International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards aimed at reducing aircraft noise impacts, including plans to fulfill new aircraft requirements by 2030.
