Unified Rules for Consumer Right Protection: First Results for 2025
Annotation
This article examines the first results of the process of introducing the Unified Rules of SDT into domestic law enforcement practice. The authors conclude that despite the effectiveness of the envisaged norms aimed at protecting the rights of consumers of the Union State, their application in practice faces a number of serious challenges and obstacles. The article analyzes judicial practice, indicating that today the Unified Rules of the SDT are practically not perceived by the courts as a source of law, incl. because of the wording about the "framework nature" of their provisions. Nevertheless, the implementation of the Uniform SDT rules is slow, but progressing. In order to more actively apply these norms in judicial practice, the authors draw attention to the need to clarify their direct action on the part of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
