Countering Drug-Related Crimes Committed in Pre-Trial Detention Facilities of the Penal System of Russia
Annotation
The article is devoted to the study of the content of drug trafficking prevention in the pre-trial detention centers of the penal system, as well as to the identification of the main risks in this area and the prospects for their reduction. Purpose: to study the problems of drug trafficking based on the current criminological situation and the practice of enforcing pretrial detention. Research methods: the study relies on a dialectical approach to understanding drug trafficking as a complex socio-legal phenomenon, based on several areas of information and communication technology development. A critical and problematic analysis of the problem under consideration was conducted, expressed through an analysis of the evolving situation in penal institutions. A statistical method was used to collect and analyze data on crimes committed by suspects and defendants held in pretrial detention facilities. Conclusions: the study demonstrates the significant characteristics of drug trafficking in pretrial detention facilities, as well as the need for an adequate and coordinated approach to its prevention. Scientific and practical significance: the article has scientific significance, providing a comprehensive overview of certain issues in the context of combating drug addiction in pretrial detention facilities. The practical significance lies in the study of the specifics of combating crimes related to drug trafficking committed in pretrial detention facilities.
