Protecting the Rights of Aggrieved Tourists in Criminal Proceedings: Problems and Solution Ways
Annotation
The significant influence of tourism on the development of various sectors of the economy implies the emergence of different kinds of threats to public and legal security. Among the most common risks for tourists there is a high level of crime which reveals significant gaps in the system of criminal protection of the rights of consumers of tourist services. This study examines international data confirming the need to introduce legal monitoring and systematization of victimization of tourists in the criminal process, reveals flaws in domestic legislation and practical law enforcement of mechanisms for protecting affected tourists. The result of the study is the development of modernization recommendations aimed at preventing crime and creating a safe tourist environment, within which it is necessary to ensure the cooperation of all parties involved, such as: organizers and performers of tourist services, law enforcement agencies, the public, state and municipal authorities.
