Modern Challenges and Cybercrime Threats: Problems of Countering Remote Theft
Annotation
The article is devoted to the analysis of the historical and modern evolution of crime in the context of technological progress, with a focus on the phenomenon of social engineering and cyber fraud. Based on a historical excursion (from railways in the early 20th century to modern digital technologies), a stable pattern is demonstrated: criminal elements master technical innovations faster than law enforcement systems and society have time to develop protective mechanisms.
