Annotation

The article is devoted to the analysis of the transformation of economic zoning in the Russian Federation in the context of simultaneous intensification of interregional competition and expansion of cooperative ties. It is shown that the classical model of zoning, based on the principles of economic integrity, specialization, and complexity, retains methodological significance but requires updating taking into account the functional organization of the economic space: agglomeration effects, interregional value chains, and infrastructural connectivity. The author's approach to "network economic zoning" is proposed, implying a multi-level system of territorial management.
