Advanced Areas of International Cooperation of the BRICS Member States

Annotation

BRICS is an international association of states that includes the exchange of information on goods and vehicles, the mutual recognition of authorized economic operators (AEOs), and the development of common positions within the framework of the “customs agenda”. The BRICS Strategic Customs Cooperation Program is designed to consolidate the strategic framework for interaction between the customs services of the BRICS countries, aimed at simplifying customs procedures in mutual trade, convergence of customs administration rules and procedures, the use of unified approaches to the exchange of information and the use of advanced information technologies. The BRICS Customs authorities should also apply the World Customs Organization's Transit Guidelines, review the BRICS countries' transit rules and agreements, and negotiate the simplification and harmonization of transit procedures for goods moving within BRICS countries. BRICS is becoming not just a political and economic association, but a space for the formation of a new multipolar world.
