The Concept and Characteristics of the Systemic Importance of Credit Institutions under Russian Law
Annotation
The article analyzes the concepts of "systemic significance", "socially significant", "economically significant", and "significant for the payment system" in relation to credit organizations, and identifies specific features that characterize the content of these concepts. The classification of a credit organization as systemically significant should be considered as granting it a special status, and the resulting group of systemically significant credit organizations requires special regulatory measures. Given the territorial characteristics of the functioning of credit organizations in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, the article concludes that it is necessary to classify certain regional banks as credit organizations that are significant for the payment system.
