On New Laws on the Legal Capacity of Citizens in Relations Involving Banks

The article analyzes changes in the civil legislation of the Russian Federation in terms of establishing the mandatory receipt by minors from 14 to 18 years old of the consent of their legal representatives to conclude a bank account agreement. The history of the issue is revealed, the few positions available in science on this issue are investigated. Arguments are given in favor of establishing equal free conditions for access to banking for persons who have reached the age of fourteen, both in terms of bank deposits and bank uncredited accounts. Possible counterarguments of the author's position were analyzed and leveled. It was concluded about the possible negative consequences of the analyzed changes for both citizens and credit institutions.
