Does Moscow Need the Rizhsky Railway Station?
Annotation
The article discusses issues related to the possibility of renaming the Riga Railway Station and other Moscow toponyms associated with the Latvian capital in connection with the openly Russophobic policy of the Latvian political leadership. It is proposed to return the Rizhsky Railway Station to its former name, Rzhevsky Railway Station, in memory of the heroic battles of the Red Army near Rzhev during the Great Patriotic War. The importance of these military operations for the defense of Moscow and the preparation of the Soviet offensive at Stalingrad is emphasized. It is also proposed to return the former historical names to other Moscow toponyms associated with the Latvian capital or to name them after the heroes of the Battle of Rzhev.
