This paper examines the development of legal frameworks for cryptocurrency circulation. The aim of the study is to analyze the legal framework for cryptocurrency in the Russian Federation and identify areas for further legislative development in this area of public relations. This article reflects accumulated international experience in legally supporting cryptocurrency circulation. It also explores the genesis of legal mechanisms regulating cryptocurrency in the Russian Federation. As a result of the research conducted, the author concludes about the need for further development of the legal field through the launch of a special experimental legal regime for investments in cryptocurrency and the introduction of an institution for licensing activities related to the organization of cryptocurrency trading. The overall result of the study is the need to develop a unique cryptocurrency circulation architecture with strict oversight by the Bank of Russia and penalties for violating established rules.
