On Motivation of Juvenile Violent Offenders
Annotation
The article analyzes the law enforcement practice of district courts in Moscow related to violent crimes against individuals committed by minors. After reviewing the materials, the author pays special attention to the motives of juvenile offenders, which, in his opinion, are influenced by individual personality traits. He highlights the heightened sense of justice, infantilism, and specific mentalities. The author comes to the logical conclusion that criminal law measures are undoubtedly more effective for crimes that have already been committed, but for preventing crimes that have not yet occurred, psychological and pedagogical measures are preferable, supported by examples of law enforcement practice where potential offenders' peers who have broken the law have received fair punishments.
