Problems of Countering Extremist Activities in the Decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation
Annotation
In Russia legislation has been formed and is being improved to regulate activities to counter extremism. The article reveals the content of the legal positions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation concerning certain aspects of such activities: the specifics of qualifying an unlawful act as extremist, the implementation of the ban on propaganda and the use of Nazi attributes and symbols, the application of liability measures for the distribution of extremist materials, the implementation of law-restricting measures in order to counter extremism in the electoral process. The significance of these legal positions of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, the nature of their impact on law-making and law enforcement practice are shown.
